Managing a Facebook Page can be helpful for businesses, brands, creators, or public figures. However, there are times when you may want to remove a page perhaps due to rebranding, inactivity, or privacy concerns.
As of 2025, Facebook (now under Meta Platforms) allows Page owners and admins to delete or temporarily unpublish a Facebook Page permanently. This guide offers a clear, fact-based walkthrough on both options using the latest Meta tools and interfaces.
Before proceeding, make sure you have the right access level.
Only users with the "Facebook Page Admin" role can delete a Page. Editors, advertisers, and other lower-level roles do not have permission to remove a Page.
To check your role:
Facebook provides two main options:
Unpublish a Page – Temporarily hides the Page from the public but allows you to retain its content. You can republish it later.
Delete a Page – Permanently remove the Page and all its content after a 30-day grace period.
If you want to hide your Page from the public but may return it later, unpublishing is the best choice.
Steps to Unpublish a Facebook Page (New Pages Experience):
Your Page will now be invisible to everyone except admins. You can republish it anytime by reversing the setting.
After this, your Page enters a 30-day pending deletion period. During this time, you can cancel the deletion by logging back in and choosing to restore the Page.
Facebook does not allow recovery after the 30-day deletion period ends.
Yes, you can delete a Page using the Facebook app (Android or iOS).
Steps:
This process is similar to the desktop version and initiates the 30-day deletion countdown.
If you do not see the delete option, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
Ensure your Page is updated to the New Pages Experience, now the default for all newly created Pages in 2025.
Whether you are closing down a business, cleaning up inactive Pages, or rebranding your online presence, deleting a Facebook Page in 2025 is a straightforward process as long as you have admin rights.
Following the steps above, you can temporarily unpublish your Page or permanently delete it. Just be sure to download any important content before finalizing deletion.
1. Can I recover a deleted Facebook Page after 30 days?
No. Once the 30-day deletion period is over, the Page is permanently deleted and cannot be restored.
2. Will deleting my Page also delete my Facebook profile?
No. Deleting a Page affects only that Page. Your profile remains unaffected.
3. Can I delete a Page that has multiple admins?
Yes, but you must be an Admin yourself. Other admins will be notified but cannot stop you from deleting the Page unless they remove your access before you complete the deletion.
4. Is there a way to download my Page data before deletion?
Yes. You can download your Page content by going to Settings > Your Facebook Information > Download Page Data.
5. Can I delete a Page linked to a Business Manager account?
Depending on access levels and restrictions, you may need to remove the Page from the Business Manager before deleting it.
